App Design and Programming

Course Description

Apply fundamental programming concepts in designing and implementing applications for the web. This course provides students the necessary foundations for developing web applications and evaluating entrepreneurial opportunities. Notes: Same as ENT 672.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Evaluate and design the architecture of Business Applications

  • Analyze programming principles to develop web applications.

  • Apply programming concepts to develop web applications.

  • Implement programming techniques to develop contemporary applications.

  • Test technologies needed for developing applications.

  • Evaluate opportunities related to using Web applications and technologies.

All assignments will be due at 11:59 pm on the assigned due date.

Assignments submitted after their due dates may be accepted with penalty, based on valid and documented reasons. Missing course deliverables due to illness, summons to jury/military duty, University-sponsored events, or any other compelling reason should be backed by the appropriate documentation and discussed with the instructor before the assignment is due. Accommodations are at the discretion of the professor.

Attendance/Participation:

Students are expected to ask questions, engage with the materials, and regularly participate in online discussions.

Online-class engagement and participation in class will be recorded and count towards the 10% of class participation. It includes asking questions and participating in class discussions boards. Class Participation% to points conversion rubric: >90% satisfactory class engagement and participation =10% points; >80% class engagement and participation = 8% points; 65%-85% class engagement and participation = 7% points; 50%-65% class engagement and participation = 5% points; <50% class engagement and participation = 2% points or lower.
