Course Description

Introduction to healthcare data, data systems, and different kinds of applications of analytics for health care, including clinical and research applications.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Summarize the scholarly discipline of health informatics and how it is applied to objective/clinical applications.

  • Identify existing validity questions and circumstances related to health informatics and provide workable resolutions.

  • Evaluate the variety of ways that health data relates to health care applications—this includes clinical, administrative, and financial data

  • Analyze the significance of incorporating research, clinical data, and theory for purposes of enhancing patient consequences

  • Summarize the different kinds of data that exist in the healthcare domain
