Course Description
An intensive focus on student development of oral communication knowledge and abilities, including presenting and interacting in contexts such as public speaking, interpersonal communication, and group communication. Prerequisite: Restricted to students in Lloyd International Honors College; Note: May be repeated once for credit when topic varies.

Honors College Student Learning Outcome
- Build critical oral communication skills using creative pedagogies and modes of learning that incorporate performance, improvisation, and play as part of developing social and emotional intelligence for greater global competency.
Course-Specific Student Learning Outcomes
- Identify differences between different song types.
- Demonstrate understanding of fundamental musical terms of song form to facilitate song analysis.

Attendance/Participation:
Students will be expected to attend each course and contribute to the discussion through involved and civic conversation. Attendance is expected throughout the semester at each class meeting and is necessary for success in our class discussions. Your frequent attendance to our class meetings will allow us to collaborate as a community and have progressive discussions together.
You will be permitted three (3) unexcused absences to help assist with unexpected life occurrences. After the three unexcused absences have been counted, any additional absences will require a change to their Attendance/Participation grade.
If you are going to be absent from class, please send me an email to let me know as a courtesy. This lets me know whether I should expect you; as such, I will not penalize you for your excused absences from class.
Should there be additional dates of absence that are excusable, please be sure to email me again concerning your absence and provide me with documentation regarding the absence, this may be a doctor’s note, third-party note, forwarded email documentation, etc.
