This course employs a dual focus on the reach and consequences of healthcare policy and explores how healthcare policy impacts healthcare access, delivery, and outcomes.

- Understand the historical and contemporary context of health politics and policy in the United States.
- Analyze the role of different stakeholders in the health policy process.
- Evaluate the impact of health policies on different population groups.
- Develop skills in policy analysis and critical thinking related to health politics and policy.

Attendance/Participation:
Attendance and punctuality are professional behaviors that students are expected to consistently demonstrate as future healthcare professionals. Therefore, attendance in this class is evaluated on a Pass/Fail basis rather than through partial credit.
The attendance grade reflects whether the minimum attendance standard established for the course has been met, not how close a student comes to meeting that standard.
Students who meet the attendance expectations outlined in the Attendance Policy will receive full attendance credit. Students who do not meet these expectations will not earn attendance credit.
