Course Description

Application of principles of interprofessional practice and education (IPP and IPE) through case studies and hands-on experiences. Prerequisite: HHS 240; Junior Status.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Apply the principles and importance of interprofessional collaborative practice in healthcare.
  • Further apply skills in communication, teamwork, and collaboration among healthcare professionals.
  • Analyze case studies and real-world scenarios to apply interprofessional practice concepts.
  • Reflect on personal and professional roles within an interprofessional team.
  • Work as a mock healthcare team to apply concepts in patient scenarios where interprofessional management benefits outcomes.

Attendance/Participation:

Attendance and punctuality are professional behaviors that students are expected to consistently demonstrate as future healthcare professionals. Therefore, attendance in this class is evaluated on a Pass/Fail basis rather than through partial credit.

The attendance grade reflects whether the minimum attendance standard established for the course has been met, not how close a student comes to meeting that standard.

Students who meet the attendance expectations outlined in the Attendance Policy will receive full attendance credit. Students who do not meet these expectations will not earn attendance credit.
