Foundations of Student Leadership in HHS I

Course Description

The purpose of this course is to prepare undergraduate students from the School of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) through a variety of professional development and networking experiences, opportunities to build communication, project management, and collaboration skills. Students will develop a project that will be executed during the spring semester. Prerequisite: Students who are nominated and accepted to participate; permission of instructor.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Demonstrate self-efficacy by confidently navigating networking and professional settings and situations.

  • Improve communication skills when engaging with peers, the campus community, alumni, and other professional contacts.

  • Apply project management principles (task management, collaboration, goal setting) to develop and complete a project aligned with School of HHS priorities.
