Prepare students for the realities of college, career and life - with emphasis on career focused goal-setting. Topics: fiscal responsibilities & solutions; career goal planning; meaningful work. Prerequisite: First-year college students and Middle College students and written permission.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Demonstrate academic and professional etiquette.
- Develop college and career materials.
- Identify their meaningful work and relate it to potential majors and careers.
- Demonstrate preparation for college, including progress on their college applications.
- Demonstrate expanded financial literacy.

Attendance/Participation:
Students are expected to attend every class and job shadowing session and arrive on time. If you must be absent from either, you must contact Ms. Johnson directly with a valid excuse; documentation may be requested. In addition to attending, students are expected to demonstrate active participation and engagement in the course by engaging in class activities, logging into Canvas regularly, putting effort into completing assignments correctly, behaving like responsible college students, and engaging in job shadowing in a professional and positive manner. Students will lose points if they interact inappropriately or disrespectfully with instructors or classmates, fail to engage fully and appropriately in class activities or job shadowing experiences, and/or demonstrate an ongoing lack of effort or maturity throughout the course. Determination of the appropriate behavior is at the discretion of the instructor(s).
