Course Description
Methods of assessing and addressing worker and workplace health and safety, including advocating for, planning, and evaluating workplace initiatives within the NIOSH Total Worker Health framework. Prerequisite: HEA 616.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Compare online workplace wellness resources.
- Contrast and utilize organizational and employee facing data tools for assessing and evaluating an organization’s health, safety, and wellness goals.
- Advocate for comprehensive workplace wellness initiatives in an organization.
- Construct a toolkit to support meeting quality benchmarks for workplace wellness initiatives.
- Evaluate workplace health, safety, and wellness resources, policies, and practices for quality, relevance, and applicability.
- Analyze and apply organizational and employee-level data to assess workplace health, safety, and wellness needs and outcomes.
- Develop and advocate for comprehensive workplace health and wellness strategies that promote employee well-being and prevent injury and illness.
- Design evidence-informed tools and resources that support organizations in meeting workplace health and wellness benchmarks and best practices.

For each assignment, the grading scheme uses the following scheme: Complete: Indicates achievement of distinction and excellence in several if not all the following aspects: 1) completeness and accuracy of knowledge; 2) intelligent use of knowledge; 3) independence of work; 4) originality. Resubmit: Indicates general achievement that involves excellence in some aspects of the work, as indicated in the definition above. While the assignment is acceptable, you may redo elements of the the assignment and resubmit it to attain a complete. Indicates the acceptable standard for graduation from UNC Greensboro for graduate students. It involves such quality and quantity of work as may fairly be expected of a student of normal ability who gives to the course a reasonable amount of time, effort, and attention. Unsatisfactory: Indicates work that does not rise to the level of Resubmit and must be completely redone. It is advisable to have a meeting with the instructor(s) to develop a clear approach to redoing the assignment.
