Course Description

Introduction to the knowledge and skills related to planning and evaluating innovative responses to the aging of society using program theory as a foundation.

Syllabus

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills of collaborative program and evaluation planning.
  • Select an issue affecting older adults based on a needs assessment.
  • Develop a program to address an issue affecting older adults.
  • Create a logic model.
  • Organize a plan to gather evidence of program effectiveness.
  • Evaluate tools and techniques used to promote team development and to diagnose and respond to conflict.
  • Identify the steps in the program planning and evaluation process.
  • Describe various frameworks for program planning and evaluation.
  • List characteristics of an effective team and team member.
