The integration and application of qualitative and quantitative research designs and methods used in gerontology with a focus on developing a scholar practitioner perspective.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Students will apply knowledge of the scientific process to address critical issues in the older population.
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of quantitative and qualitative methods in research to best approach issues when working with older adults.
- Students will apply a scholar-practitioner framework to propose solutions to major issues impacting older adults.
- Students will assess the approaches and limitations in gerontological research.
- Students will apply the evidence-based practice and scholar-practitioner frameworks.
- Students will evaluate published research articles.
