Course Description
Designed to develop proficiency in the reading of ancient Greek prose and to introduce students to Greek prose authors. Plato and Lysias and/or Herodotus (or another historian) taught in alternate years. Prerequisite: Successful completion of GRK 102 or permission of instructor.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- read, understand, and translate both prepared and sight passages from Greek prose with appropriate aid
- analyze the syntax and basic structure of the Greek text
- describe from memory the morphology of common ancient Greek verbal and nominal forms
- analyze and present on secondary scholarship concerning prose texts
