Introduction to ancient Greek. Emphasis on understanding principles of grammar and developing skills for reading ancient Greek.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Learn and recognize all letters of the ancient Greek alphabet
- Read, write, and pronounce correctly ancient Greek words.
- Recognize and translate basic forms of ancient Greek vocabulary words as found in the course text, as well as use proper English grammatical terms in describing them.
- Write correct Greek word forms for learned vocabulary.
- Read and translate short ancient Greek sentences both seen in the text and unseen before.
