Course Description
Study of the geographic distribution of organisms and the factors/processes accountable. Emphasis on the increasingly important role humans play in influencing biogeographic processes. Prerequisite: GES 314 or GES 319 or BIO 301; or admission to graduate program in geography; or permission of instructor.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Students recognize the importance of pattern, process, and scale influencing biogeographic patterns.
- Students demonstrate an understanding of the role of human agency in affecting biogeographic patterns and processes.
- Students demonstrate an understanding of the historical biotic and abiotic components that influence the distribution of flora and fauna.
