Course Description
Acquisition, analysis, and interpretation of digital and photographic imagery. Emphasis on using satellite and aircraft imagery for classification and monitoring of the earth's physical, environmental, and cultural landscape.
Syllabus
Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Explain the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with the atmosphere and the Earth's surface.
- Describe how airborne and satellite sensors collect remote sensing data.
- Apply photogrammetric and image interpretation principles to analyze remotely sensed imagery.
- Interpret analog and digital images for environmental and geographic applications.
- Process and analyze remote sensing data using ENVI software.
- Communicate remote sensing concepts and analytical results effectively in written reports and oral presentations.

Attendance/Participation:
Students are expected to attend all lectures and laboratory sessions and actively participate in course activities. Regular attendance is essential because laboratory exercises and the class project build on concepts introduced during class meetings. Missed work may affect the student's final course grade.
