Course Description
This interdisciplinary course provides a mountains-to-sea approach to places and people in North Carolina. Students address problem solving with UNCG as a living laboratory for environmental and sustainability issues. Prerequisite: Must have fewer than 60 credits to enroll or can enroll by Written Permission.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students completing this course will be able to:
Develop academic skills (e.g., reading comprehension, effective note-taking, studying, oral presentation, and test preparation skills) and demonstrate the ability to identify and use campus services and resources (e.g., Library, Writing Center, Academic Achievement Center, STEM Learning Center) (MAC SLO 1).
Develop goals and plans related to personal purpose, interests, or values between self and community (MAC SLO 2).
Build connections between self and peers, faculty, and staff through class activities and assignments (MAC SLO 3).
Critically evaluate information and media sources (e.g., authority, accuracy, relevance, currency, and purpose) in a variety of formats on environmental issues (MAC SLO 4).
Incorporate and cite sources accurately and correctly (MAC SLO 5).
Discuss key environmental issues and their interconnection with biophysical, ecological, and socioeconomic systems across the main geographic regions of North Carolina.
Analyze and assess solutions for urban environmental issues with UNCG as a living laboratory.
