Laboratory exercises to accompany GES 103. Topics include atmospheric data analysis, topographic map interpretation, and hydrological measurements. Corequisite: GES 103.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Describe how Earth’s major subsystems are connected
- Describe the nature and makeup of Earth’s major inorganic subsystems
- Explain and describe the key processes that occur within Earth’s lithosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere
- Apply key geographic analysis techniques related to the interpretation of maps and figures.
Data Analysis and Interpretation in the Natural Sciences
- Apply quantitative analysis to understand the natural world.
- Analyze and interpret quantitative data to evaluate and test hypotheses about the natural world.
- Construct and interpret data tables, charts, graphs, or other representations of scientific data.

Attendance/Participation:
Students must be present in lab to submit assigned lab exercises and may not submit assignments for fellow students. If a student leaves lab early or before being dismissed by the instructor, they will be marked absent from lab and that week’s lab will not be accepted.
Attendance is mandatory for lab submission; no exceptions will be made for absences. The lowest lab score will be dropped to allow for one missed lab without penalty.
