Course Description
An opportunity to increase proficiency in oral and written language skills while extending knowledge of French literature and contemporary French culture. A bridge to advanced work in all areas. Prerequisite: FRE 204 or FRE 241 or equivalent; or departmental permission; Notes: May not be taken for credit by students who have successfully completed FRE 315 or above.

- Explain major themes and cultural contexts of texts
- Formulate and support arguments about literature
- Express informed opinions about cultural and literary topics
- Present ideas clearly in oral and written formats
- Engage critically with peer contributions

Attendance/Participation:
Students are allowed up to two unexcused absences. Additional absences will result in deductions from the final grade, and excessive absences may lower the final letter grade. Regular attendance and active participation are essential.
