Course Description

A variable topics course that focuses on health and wellness, as well as information literacy.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of factors that contribute to physical and/or mental health.
  • Analyze the connection(s) of different aspects of wellness (i.e., choices or actions to achieve health/well-being) to the overall health of an individual or population.
  • Synthesize information from multiple sources to support arguments and/or inform decisions.
  • Integrate and cite sources accurately.

Attendance/participation is not a graded component included in the student's final grade for this course.

Course Materials Purchased by the Students:

  • You will need a lined notebook to keep exclusively for this course. Use it for reading notes, reporting notes, brainstorming sessions, and journal entries. Try to write in it every day.
  • You will need a small artist’s sketchbook for your mindful sketches, which you will turn in once a week.
