Attendance/Participation:
Assessment of student progress will be made during rehearsal and in performance. Attendance, preparation for rehearsal, and assignments are the three elements evaluated for grading in rehearsal and at performances. 90% of your grade for Chorale is based on attendance at all rehearsals and concerts. The final 10% is based on completion of assignments. For each concert, you will submit one part check assignment (details below). Occasionally, preparation, energy, and focus will be evaluated through quartet singing of parts. Singers will be notified well in advance of these evaluations.
Students should miss no more than 2 scheduled classes, meetings, or rehearsals for any reason. After 2 classes, meetings, or rehearsals missed, any other absences will affect your grade unless you have made prior arrangements with the instructor. The attendance portion of your grade will lower by 10 points for each rehearsal missed above 2.
2 tardies will equal one absence. After reaching your limit of allowed absences, 5 points will be lowered for each tardy. If you are more than 20 minutes late to rehearsal, you will be counted as absent.
