Performance of literature from all eras, including contemporary works for this medium.

Syllabus

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Demonstrate skills intrinsic to performing with and without a conductor in a homogenous ensemble, including balance, tone, intonation, reading and interpreting rhythms accurately, and understanding and adapting to varying styles;
  • Employ learned performance techniques in rehearsals and performances to the best of their abilities;
  • Incorporate a standard repertoire into their knowledge base of literature over the semester.

Course Materials Purchased by the Students:

Students are required to either purchase or use the UNCG libraries for all digital/sheet music presented for performance/evaluation, and any equipment or accessories required for performance by the instructor.
