Performance of literature from all eras, including contemporary works for this medium. Notes: May be repeated every semester.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Demonstrate skills intrinsic to performing with and without a conductor in a small group setting, including balance, tone, intonation, reading and interpreting rhythms accurately, and understanding and adapting to varying styles;
  • Employ learned performance techniques in rehearsals
  • Function independently as well as within a team, practice discipline, and enhance skills in acting responsibly and dependably
  • Evaluate progress, diagnose, and develop strategies for improvement for independent chamber music performance.

Course Materials Purchased by the Students:

Students are required to either purchase or use the UNCG libraries for all digital/sheet music presented for performance/evaluation, and any equipment or accessories required for performance by the instructor.
