Research Methodology

• To recognize and apply the research methodology needed for the critical study of the literatures, rhetoric, or language of English.

Analysis

• To identify and discriminate among literary, rhetorical, or linguistic theories and history to inform the critical study of English.

Content Knowledge

• To recognize and summarize the multiple fields of English and the current issues within them.

Attendance/Participation:

In this course, participation is mandatory. Students will come to class prepared, having completed all readings, and considered their feedback.

Students may miss up to two classes, ensuring that they turn in all related assignments and feedback for their peers within a week of that absence.

Arriving to class more than ten minutes late is considered an absence.

In emergency circumstances, students will communicate with the professor to the best of their ability and will plan with the professor to make up late work.
