Attendance/Participation:
Participation is your active, engaged contribution to every aspect of this class. Participation includes your timely submission of assignments, your vocal and written responses to readings and in-class discussions, and your commitment to large- and small-group collaborations. Collaboration with peers is an especially important part of the class, so you should strive to contribute to your classmates’ academic growth as well as your own, and strive to fulfill your part in creating a vibrant intellectual community. Because participation is so essential, you are expected to attend every class when you are healthy enough to do so.
Your presence and participation are critical on draft workshop days because your peers are reliant on your engaged feedback on their writing. Missing a peer review these days will impact the grade you earn on the corresponding major assignment. Those points may not be made up at a later time.
