Introduction to the theory and practice of critical pedagogy including its relationship to critical social theory. Emphasis on education as vehicle for social change, moral critique, and personal transformation.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- To understand the history as well as contemporary discourses in critical pedagogy while developing an in-depth
- To develop an understanding of how critical pedagogy is practiced in schooling and various learning spaces.
- To engage in research of the field, particularly new terrains, and contribute to the growing literature.
