Course Description
An introduction to Laban Bartenieff Movement Analysis through movement integration, observation, critical research, notation, and analysis. Prerequisite: Graduate Dance standing or permission of instructor.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Understand and incorporate the principles of Laban Movement Analysis into graduate-level physical, experiential, written, notation, and creative projects.
- Create graduate-level dance movement phrases with personal significance and critically analyze their expressive content.
- Analyze, recognize, and describe the structural, functional, and expressive aspects of movement.
- Observe recurring movement patterns, identify personal movement preferences, and explore methods for developing new movement possibilities.
- Create and maintain a learning environment grounded in mutual respect and acceptance.
- Apply cooperative learning techniques to support understanding and integration of Laban Movement Analysis in research, teaching, performance, and creative work.
- Collaboratively develop and present dance investigations and choreography and provide meaningful feedback.
