Creative Synthesis in Dance

Course Description

Culminating choreographic experience for students completing choreography concentration in B.F.A. Prerequisite: Grades of B or higher in DCE 453 and DCE 465, previous submission of choreography in a School of Dance student concert, and senior status in DCE B.F.A. major; or permission of instructor.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Describe choreographic goals and methods in concise and organized presentations.
  • Create original choreography in solo or group forms.
  • Articulate ideas and artistic values in their own work and the work of others.
  • Produce choreography in pre-professional settings.

Attendance/Participation:

Attendance and full participation are expected at each class meeting. Students participating in school productions are expected to maintain regular attendance and engagement throughout the performance production process.
