Course Description
In this advanced clinical procedures course, students learn clinical skills related to the recreational therapy process with a focus on developing individualized treatment plans; developing clinical goals, objectives and treatment interventions; learning documentation, discharge planning, and evaluation skills. Prerequisite: CTR 611 or permission of instructor.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Define evidenced-based practice in recreational therapy (7.02b)
- Utilize RT assessment findings to develop client treatment plans (7.02a)
- Apply the RT process to design individual and group programs and treatment plans in various settings (7.02b)
- Write behavioral objectives that will direct clients’ treatment plans (7.02b)
- Describe and utilize referral, discharge, and transition processes in a continuum of care (7.02b)
- Describe the purpose and content of documentation as it related to clients, staff, programs, management, and quality assurance/improvement in RT (7.02d)
- Write documentation as it relates to clients, programs, and quality improvement in RT (7.02d
- Describe and utilize program evaluation tools/methods to document client and program outcomes (7.02e)
- Describe the roles and contributions of client, family, and significant others in the RT process (7.02a)
- Describe the use of self as an instrument in therapeutic relationships and understand the process of developing therapeutic relationships (7.02a)
