Course Description
Examination of the financial needs and techniques utilized in recreation and sport management. Emphasis on philosophy, terminology, and measurement of economies, revenue streams, and budgets.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge of techniques of financial management including operating and capital budgets, revenue generation and accountability, pricing of services, cost analysis, and financial forecasting.
Assess and describe the economic impact of recreation and sport services on the general economy.
Evaluate techniques of outcome measurement and policy analysis for service effectiveness and the achievement of programming and organizational goals and objectives.
Describe ethical principles applying to the financing of recreation and sport services.
Assess different techniques of financing, budgeting, and fiscal accountability associated with operational and strategic management.
