Inclusive Recreation

Course Description

Awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of people with disabilities and other marginalized groups with regard to planning, delivering, and evaluating recreation and sport services in the community.

  • Analyze the concept of inclusion and its significance within recreation and sport services.
  • Identify key legislation policies that support the rights of all individuals to equitable access in recreation and sport services.
  • Apply best practices and evidence-based strategies for fostering inclusive recreation and sports programs and services.
  • Apply the use of universal design principles to create accessible and inclusive recreation environments.
