Syllabus

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of concepts, practices, and experiences of health communication (e.g. to be able to critically "see" how and why people perform "health" in particular ways)

  • Demonstrate an ability to collect, analyze, and perform health experiences/episodes/stories (e.g. to be able to use this critical awareness to engage performances as creative/scholarly data)

  • Demonstrate a graduate level ability to apply performance and narrative theory and practice to health experiences/issues/topics (e.g. by following the research process through from idea to observing performances, to collection of narrative data, to performance and reflection, and written scholarship)
