Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Identify and analyze critical pedagogy and critical communication pedagogy philosophies and barriers to critical educational practices in and beyond educational spaces.
- Develop critical and logical questions
- Demonstrate the ability to develop a well-written and accurate thesis and written argument to support this statement, utilizing designated source/sources.
- Lead class discussions on difficult and controversial issues with competence, informed practices, and ethical intentions.
- Collaborate with community partners to understand goals and needs in the community and integrate critical communication pedagogy when appropriate.
- Make clear, supported, and logical connections between community-placed experiences and individual community engaged experiences and opportunities for critical thought and pedagogical development.

Attendance/Participation:
Because this is a Graduate Level course, attendance and participation are expected at all times.
Weekly one-pagers will only be accepted if the student is in attendance and the paper has been submitted before class.
If the student does not attend class, the weekly grade for the one-pager will be zero.
The instructor will drop one weekly-one pager assignment for every student (i.e. students can miss one class and/or not submit one weekly paper).
