Communicating Ethically

Course Description

Provides students with an opportunity to think critically about ethical and moral dimensions of current practices in interpersonal, institutional, and public communication.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Identify the potential ethical dimensions and practices within several communication contexts (interpersonal, organizational, community, and public).

  • Cultivate an ethical voice by reflecting on various ethical frameworks and practicing engagement with various communication contexts.

  • Apply principles that could justify communicative actions with consideration of alternative perspectives.

  • Demonstrate critical and creative decision-making in ethical challenges.

  • Practice self-reflexive communicative action.
