Students must receive a minimum cumulative final rating of 3.33 or above (within the B range) on the CALIPSO Final Evaluation to be eligible to enroll in CSD 678 in the spring semester. A score of 3.33 indicates competency in the individual skill areas. At the discretion of the clinical educator, a performance remediation plan to address specific skill deficiencies may be implemented at any time, for any student, even if the overall grade is at or above a score of 3.33.

Students are expected to demonstrate professionalism during all interactions with clients, peers, faculty, staff and off-campus supervisors. Professional practice that does not meet expectations can alone be grounds for implementing a remediation plan and/or earning a failing grade.

Final grades for CSD 671L are assigned by your clinical educator(s) with whom the student worked during the semester.

Completing all assignments related to clinical practice is required. Failure to complete any assignment by the semester’s end will result in an “incomplete” grade.

Attendance/Participation:

Students are required to attend all scheduled clinical placement sessions. Attendance will be monitored and recorded by the clinical placement supervisor.

Students must notify their clinical placement supervisor as soon as possible if they are unable to attend a scheduled session. A valid reason for the absence must be provided, along with any supporting documentation if requested (e.g., medical certificate).

Students who miss a clinical placement session must arrange to complete a make-up session. The make-up session must be coordinated with the clinical placement supervisor and must be completed to meet the required clinical hours and competencies.

Failure to notify the clinical placement supervisor of an absence or failure to complete a make-up may result in a review of the student’s clinical placement performance and possible disciplinary action, up to and including failure of the clinical placement component of the course.

Exceptions to this policy may be granted on a case-by-case basis, considering individual circumstances.
