Anatomical and physiological bases of human communication. Prerequisite: Majors only, or by permission of instructor; Corequisite: Must be taken concurrently with CSD 306, CSD 307, and CSD 308; Notes: Not open to freshmen or sophomores.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Identify & explain foundational anatomical terms and tissues
Identify & explain the support structures of the respiratory, articulatory and laryngeal systems
Identify & explain the function of muscles in the respiratory, articulatory and laryngeal systems
Identify & explain the neurologic structures and pathways associated with speech production
Integrate information within specific systems (ex. Respiratory system, articulatory system, laryngeal system, nervous system) to describe human communication
Apply course concepts to clinical situations to demonstrate understanding of the importance of Anatomy and Physiology in the Communication Sciences and Disorders field
