This course is designed for non-CS major students and covers concepts and applications of AI and societal impacts and ethical considerations of AI. Selected advanced topics such as generative AI and large language models will also be delivered with hands-on experience. No programming knowledge is required.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
This course is designed for non-computer science majors and introduces fundamental concepts and applications of artificial intelligence, as well as the societal impacts and ethical considerations of AI. Selected advanced topics, such as generative AI and large language models, will also be introduced through hands-on activities. No prior programming experience is required.
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Understand fundamental AI concepts, common applications, societal impacts, and ethical considerations.
Use AI tools and implement simple AI applications with guided programming activities.
Construct and interpret data tables, charts, graphs, and other representations of scientific data.
Apply quantitative analysis to understand the natural world.
Analyze and interpret quantitative data to evaluate and test hypotheses about the natural world.
Summarize and present the design, application, and results of an AI tool in a clear and structured manner.

Attendance is required for all students. Students with four or more unexcused absences will receive a zero for the attendance portion of the course grade.
