Course Description
Introduction to computer programming for non-computer science majors, including programming concepts of variables, expressions, decision statements, iteration, functions, and modular design. Language and applications chosen to be relevant to non-majors.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Explain fundamental programming concepts, including variables, expressions, and basic data types.
- Use conditional statements and iteration to control program execution.
- Trace and analyze programs to predict their behavior and output.
- Design and implement small-scale programs to solve computational problems.
- Use functions and modular design principles to organize programs.
- Identify and correct basic errors in computer programs.
- Use programming tools to explore and analyze data.

Attendance/Participation:
Regular attendance and active participation are expected. Students are responsible for all course material, announcements, and assignments presented during missed classes. Participation may include in-class programming exercises, worksheets, discussions, and other learning activities.
