Class attendance is required for labs. Attendance is defined as (1) being in class, (2) on time, and (3) staying for the entire period. Arriving late and/or leaving early without notice will be treated as an absence. Students arriving late will receive a 1-point deduction for every minute late. If more than 15 minutes late, no entry to lab and zero for that day’s work.
The instructor reserves the right to drop a student from the course after four (4) unexcused absences.
No make-up for labs, quizzes, exams, in-class work or presentations are permitted; however, 2 make-up labs are offered during the semester.
Late work will not be accepted. Work turned in after the deadline will result in a zero.
Students are responsible for accessing course materials and announcements posted on Canvas or emailed.
Excused absences include: student illness with proper documentation, serious illness or death in immediate family with documentation, CARS department related trips with prior approval, religious holidays with prior approval, court subpoena with documentation, and emergency circumstances evaluated case by case.
An excused absence does not mean credit for attendance or work missed; extensions up to 48 hours may be provided for missed assignments except labs.
Students must notify instructor at least five class days in advance for university-sponsored events and arrange to complete missed work.
Disruptive behavior will result in removal from class and university sanctions.
