Attendance/Participation:

Students who attend class, arrive on time, and participate in class discussions will receive 7 points of credit for each class attended. Participation involves avoiding use of electronics (including laptops), arriving to class on time, being fully alert in class, practicing ‘yes, and’ and engaging with quality contributions to our weekly class discussions and group work. This will include in class activities, which you must complete as part of your participation points.

You are expected to attend all class meetings and required experiences. However, we understand that things happen. All students are given two free absences from class with no point penalty. Beyond those two absences, missing a class will result in a zero for the day’s attendance points. This penalty may be waived for excused absences, such as (but not necessarily limited to): participation in an authorized University activity, participation in legal proceedings, family death or illness, religious obligations, personal illness, or weather-related emergencies.

Being late or using your electronics disrupts the learning environment and is disrespectful to your classmates, Instructor, and guest speakers. Please show up on time and pay attention to receive your attendance points.
