Course Description

This course focuses on current research topics such as corporate social responsibility, human resources management, international business, organizational behavior, strategic management, and sustainability.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Highlight the major points in required readings.
  • Explain the strengths and weaknesses in individual articles or a collection of articles on a topic.
  • Link or integrate required readings with each other and with outside literature from prior coursework, own reading, or additional readings.
  • Describe extensions of the empirical work we read and new applications of the concepts and theories that we study.
  • Compose and explain provocative research questions that emerge from readings.
  • Propose feasible approaches for data gathering and methods for empirically investigating research questions.

Attendance/Participation:

Students are expected to participate in the general discussion of each topic and other students’ presentations in virtual meetings, or in corresponding online discussion forums. Students are expected to complete all assignments and other required course activities by the stated deadlines. Due dates are available on Canvas. Students are responsible for meeting these deadlines. The instructor reserves the right to modify the course schedule or deadlines at their discretion, and any changes will be communicated through Canvas. Participation and timely completion of course requirements will be reflected in each student’s final course grade.
