Attendance/Participation:
Attendance at all virtual class sessions is expected because students must be present to participate and earn class participation points.
The course is conducted in seminar format, with readings assigned for each week. It is expected that all students will contribute to the discussion during each class. Absences and lack of preparedness will negatively affect your grade. Preparation involves completing the reading and assignments in advance and coming to class prepared to contribute to the discussion. Please keep in mind that the quality of your contributions—not merely their quantity—will be evaluated. And, of course, you must attend the virtual sessions to participate! Class participation will be evaluated twice during the semester.
