Course Description
Examines how economic, social, political, and institutional factors affect the practices and processes of conducting business in the global environment, and how organizational factors affect the way businesses respond to these environmental factors. Prerequisite: Admitted to the M.S. in International Business, M.B.A., P.B.C. in Global Leadership and Strategy, or permission of the Program Director.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Identify the key ethical and environmental issues that are typically connected with international business.
- Describe the public policy and political factors that can affect the risks of entering and operating in a foreign country.
- Analyze institutional, cultural and economic differences affecting businesses across different economies.
- Analyze the pros and cons of various methods of effectively entering and operating in a foreign country.
- Explain the importance of being responsive to the local environment and relate it to the international strategies available for multinational companies.
- Analyze the roles of supranational institutions in shaping international business activities.

Because this is an asynchronous course, there is no traditional attendance requirement. Students are expected to participate by completing all assignments, discussions, and other required course activities by the stated deadlines. Due dates are available on Canvas. Students are responsible for meeting these deadlines. The instructor reserves the right to modify the course schedule or deadlines at their discretion, and any changes will be communicated through Canvas. Participation and timely completion of course requirements will be reflected in each student’s final course grade.
