Leadership Development

Course Description

Students learn about the qualities of good leaders and demonstrate those qualities are exercised in a business environment with a specific focus on ethical and sustainable decision making. Prerequisite: BUS 315; Open to Seniors who are Majors in ACCT, BADM, CARS, CYBE, CYMA, ECON, ECOS, ENTR, FINC, HTMT, HURM, INTB, ISSC, or MKTG.

Syllabus

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Define leadership and its role in organizational success.
  • Assess personal values, beliefs and ethical standards to enhance self-awareness in regard to personal leadership behaviors and reactions to leadership behaviors of others.
  • Understand the role of appropriate ethical standards in business decision making.
  • Evaluate business decisions in the context of sustainability goals, balancing environmental, social, and economic needs, conditions and potential decision impacts.
