Course Description
An introduction to marine organisms and their habitats; special attention given to adaptations necessary for marine life, physical oceanography, and basic ecological principles; Field trips off site are required and may include an additional fee. Prerequisite: BIO 301, BIO 330.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Describe the variety of organisms that inhabit the ocean
- Compare and contrast the characteristics of various marine ecosystems
- Evaluate current research papers and studies to further explore topics in marine biology.
- Articulate how humans are impacting the sea

I expect all work to be submitted by the due date as posted in Canvas. Late submissions will be penalized 5 points per day.
Computers are welcome and encouraged to use to enhance learning and discussions. Phones should not be out and visible during class. If you need to answer the phone or text- please step out of the classroom.
