Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
Human physiology is explored using data from both human and amphibian subjects. Students will be required to describe relationships between manipulated and measured variables and must show an ability to draw accurate conclusions from physiological data that are presented in graphs and flow charts.

Attendance/Participation:
Attendance in your own lab section is required to ensure that there is space for everyone to attend comfortably, and deadlines are to keep you on track as physiology is a cumulative subject. If you know ahead of time that you will need to miss a lab (for an approved reason) then you must arrange to attend a different lab section BEFORE you miss your own lab. Not sure what an approved reason is? Ask your lab instructor! You must attend a lab session before you can turn in a data sheet or critical thinking assignment. For safety reasons, if you miss the prelab talk, you must arrange to attend a different lab assuming you have a reasonable excuse for being late. It is important to arrive on time so that you receive important instructions and can be a valuable member of your lab team.
If you miss your lab or fail to turn in an assignment, please contact your instructor WITHIN 24 HRS to discuss a makeup opportunity.
Course Materials Purchased by the Students:
- Laboratory Manual for Human Physiology, 2025, UNCG Biology Department. 9th edition (Print #: 979-8-3851-7617-5, eBook #: 979-8-3851-7618-2). The hard copy is HIGHLY recommended over the etext as you have work to turn in from the lab manual.
- Physical iclicker
- Textbook used in lecture: Human Physiology: An Integrated Approach 8th edition will be needed to complete laboratory assignments.
