Attendance/Participation:
Attendance is graded because this course functions as a production studio. Critiques, team coordination, live troubleshooting, and premiere planning depend on your presence. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of class.
Three unexcused late arrivals or early departures equal one absence.
Missing a required critique, production review, technical rehearsal, or assigned premiere responsibility may affect the attendance grade unless the absence is excused.
Because the course meets once each week for an extended studio block, one absence represents a substantial amount of production time.
Excused absences may include documented illness, university-related travel, religious observances, military obligations, or documented emergencies. Notify the instructor as soon as possible. If you are sick, do not attend in person. Students remain responsible for communicating with the team, reviewing posted resources, and completing assigned production work.
Course Materials Purchased by the Students:
- Access to the Gatewood lab or a computer capable of running the team’s approved production software.
- An external SSD, 1 TB or larger recommended for capstone production files.
- A second backup location such as OneDrive, Google Drive, or another approved cloud service.
- Headphones for editing, sound review, and focused studio work.
- A drawing glove when using a Cintiq display.
