Course Description
Topic-based seminar in art history. Students acquire knowledge of current research and methodology on the selected topic, undertake related independent research, and present findings in oral and written forms. Prerequisite: ARH 110 or ARH 111 or permission of instructor; ART major with Art History concentration or ANY student with Art History Minor or Art History for Artists and Art Museum Studies Minor.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Identify and evaluate current art-historical research and methodological approaches related to a selected topic.
- Conduct independent art-historical research using appropriate scholarly sources and research practices.
- Analyze artworks and visual materials through close visual and material analysis and historical contextualization.
- Develop and support original arguments in clear written and oral forms.
- Engage critically and collaboratively with scholarly readings, discussion, peer review, and oral presentation.

Attendance/Participation:
Attendance and active participation together constitute 15% of the final grade. Regular attendance, preparation, and substantive participation are expected; absences, frequent tardiness, or limited participation may lower this grade.
