Chronological, thematic survey of significant works representing visual traditions of Global art from the Paleolithic era to circa 1400 C.E.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Students will develop the tools of art history, including close looking, comparative analysis, critical inquiry, and cultural contextualization.
- They will gain an understanding of the connection between social, political, and religious movements and the monuments created.
- Students will learn about different cultures, customs, religions, and practices from around the world, helping them to prepare to work effectively in a global society.
- Students will learn to recognize, describe, and analyze works of art from around the world.
