Course Description

Supervised student teaching at the elementary or the secondary school level. Prerequisite: ARE 361, ARE 363, ARE 365, and ARE 368; Note: For Art Education majors only; Permission of Art Education Program Coordinator required.

Syllabus

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a professional presence in K-12 Art Education in diverse formal settings by closely interacting with students and certified visual art teachers in the field.
  • Assist in planning, instruction, and assessment of visual art learning at K-12 grade levels with guidance and supervision from On-Site Teacher Educator (OSTE) and University Supervisor.
  • Explore a variety of studio practices and materials including different applications for technology in developing K-12 art lessons and curricular units.
  • Demonstrate student learning and growth through preparation and submission of edTPA portfolio.
