Introduction to African American and African Diaspora culture through a historical and social perspective. Includes foundational documents in American democracy.

Students successfully completing this course will be able to:

  • To better understand the histories, cultures, and politics of African Americans as part of the global African Diaspora
  • To be able to analyze a range of written, oral, and visual sources in the construction of history and culture.
