Course Description
Principles and procedures involved in determining federal estate tax; tax planning using gifts and trusts. Prerequisite: ACC 602 or grade of C or higher in ACC 420.

Student Learning Outcomes, Goals, Objectives:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Apply the tax law to the operations of trusts.
- Apply the tax law to the operations of transfer taxes.
- Apply the tax law to the operations of estates.
- Conduct tax research and apply to it a complex set of facts related to gifts and estates.
- Prepare and abide by tax compliance and reporting requirements for trusts.
- Improve written communication skills through various projects.
- Improve tax planning skills through analyzing complex family tax situations and facts.
